Ottopia Review
‘Really fun for children and adults. You go in and explore and it’s an otter land! if you like gaming I recommend you go there!’ – our 7 year old
OTTOPIA really has to be experienced, it’s almost impossible to fully describe, but expect an interactive art installation that is perfect for families. On arrival you are given a trail sheet that leads you round the exhibition. The exhibition itself ia a feast for the senses and dotted all the way through are interactive games to play.
From competing to catch balls in an air machine to retro light matching games, my eldest (age 7) loved having a go at all the activities and completing the trail to open the top secret safe at the end of the exhibition. Our toddler could also get hands on with lots of the exhibition so it was as great experience for all of us.
We spent about an hour inside before heading upstairs to see the artists workshops on the first floor. As my seven year old said ‘the studio at the top is cool to see people doing art.’ The Base also run lots of art workshops for adults and kids (their Christmas ones always catch up my eye!) so that is well worth checking out.
Tickets for the exhibition are £7, with under 5s going free and you can also pick up an annual pass for the whole family for £45. There is also a lovely cafe onsite (Honesty at The Base) to check out while you are there
We’d definitely recommend popping down to OTTOPIA. It’s on until 29th August.
