What’s On For Kids : October Half Term Activities in Hertfordshire

October Half Term Activities in Hertfordshire 2025

Cammas Hall – open select dates from 4th to 31st Oct (near Bishop Stortford)

Cammas Hall pumpkin patch returns for 2025 with all the pumpkins and squash
homegrown on the farm.  Visit by day for for pumpkin picking, activities, Halloween characters and the worlds only erupting Pumpcano!

Explore the patch after dark at Resurrected and brave the spooky tunnels. Each night there will be a different Dead Legend tribute act performing in the patch!


Aldenham Country Park Spook-Fest (Elstree) 11th October – 2nd November

Geared to families it is ‘Spooky’ rather than ‘terrifying’ and suitable for all ages.

Willows Activity Farm Pumpkin Festival (St Albans) 11th/12th, 18th/19th, 24th – 31st Oct

Pick your pumpkin from Willow’s Pumpkin Patch and enjoy a full programme of pumpkin-tastic fun!

Lee Valley Farm‘s Halloween Festival (Waltham Abbey) 18th-19th Oct + 25th – 31st Oct

Who will you spot around the farm this Halloween? Witches, wizards, vampires… Maybe even some spooky film characters.  Live shows, haunted walk through, arts & crafts and all the fun of the farm.

Mega Dinosaur Bricks at Hertfordshire Zoo (Broxbourne) 24th Oct – 3rd November

Get ready for something truly dino-mite at Hertfordshire Zoo Mega Dino Bricks, a brand-new event that brings colossal prehistoric creatures to life in an exciting and unique way!

Hogshaw Farm School of Witchcraft & Wizardry

Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park It’s time for some magic and mystery this Halloween as you enter Hogshaw School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. Little witches and wizards of all ages are invited to join us for a nature-inspired Halloween day out this October half term.



HalloweenSpookfest at Church Farm (Ardeley) 18th – 31st October

Come and meet the animals and enjoy wonderful rustic creepy fun!  Geared towards families so ‘spooky’ rather than ‘terrifying’, all ages are welcome!

The trail is designed to engage different senses and is particularly suitable for children with special educational needs or disabilities.

Horrible Histories at Watersmeet Theatre (Rickmansworth) 27th October

Horrible Histories live on stage with the acclaimed production of Gorgeous Georgians and Vile Victorians this October Half Term!

Poppy Fields at St Albans Cathedral (St Albans) 28th Oct – 1st Nov

Experience Poppy Fields by Luxmuralis, an immersive journey of light and sound reflecting on the World Wars  and hopes for peace. Stunning projections and evocative music will transform the Cathedral into a moving work of art.

Knebworth Gardens Halloween Adventure (Knebworth near Stevenage) 28th – 30th October

Get your broomsticks, hats and magic wands at the ready and venture into Knebworth Gardens this Autumn for a Halloween Adventure filled with family fun!

October Half Term Fun at Mill Green Mill and Museum (Mill Green, Hatfield) 29th – 31st Oct

There will be fun and spooky activities on 29th – 30th October where children will get the opportunity to be creative with 45 minute activities.  Clay Monsters on Wed and on Thursday you can make a witch and broomstick.  On Halloween there will also be a family friendly event with pumpkin patch, carving, meet the monster miller, spooky traila nd full access to the mill and mini millers stay & play.

Magic & Mystery Show at Watersmeet Theatre (Rickmansworth) 29th October

A thrilling, fun-filled family magic show starring the incredible Kurtis Whitehead! Packed with jaw-dropping tricks, hilarious surprises, and plenty of audience participation, this one-hour spectacle is perfect for kids and grown-ups alike.

Taylor Swift – The Eras Experience at Watersmeet Theatre (Rickmansworth) 31st October

Step into the unparalleled world of Taylor Swift in this ENCHANTING show featuring the incredible: Xenna as Taylor. A celebration of the iconic pop sensation’s music, style, and unrivalled stage presence.

Cassiobury Fireworks (Watford) 1st Nov FREE

Fireworks returns to Cassiobury Park on Saturday 1st November, Hertfordshire’s biggest FREE firework display.  There are a variety of food and drink outlets, kiddies funfair rides, bungee trampolines and a bouncy slide to keep everyone well fed and entertained before the main display.

Bushey Fireworks with Take That Tribute & Fun Fair

Bring your family and friends for a spectacular afternoon of entertainment, featuring performances by Magic Kurtis and Take@That, a big funfair, a variety of stalls, delicious food, and bars to keep everyone entertained.

Parsonage Lane fireworks (Bishops Stortford)

Illuminatus Pyrotechnics returnfor another year providing the biggest and best fireworks display yet. There will also be a fireshow, from Taylor Made Events including fire dancing and fire eating!
